Aaron Rose is a film director, producer, artist, musician, writer, and curator currently living in Los Angeles. In the 1990s, he worked for MTV Networks producing/directing on-air promos with contemporary artists and indie-directors including Rita Ackermann, Thurston Moore and Harmony Korine as well as producing numerous short films (including Susan Cianciolo's "Diadal" and Mark Gonzales "Backworlds for Words"). His first feature documentary film, Beautiful Losers, premiered at the 2008 South By Southwest (SxSW) Film Festival and will be released internationally in theatres during the summer of 2008. Outside of film, for the past four years, Rose has been choosing artists for the Undefeated Billboard Project, a public art project in Los Angeles produced in collaboration with Nike. Past billboard artists include Dennis Hopper, Terry Richardson, Barry McGee and Raymond Pettibon. He also co-curated the museum exhibition, “Beautiful Losers: Contemporary Art & Street Culture” which opened in March 2004 and will continue to tour the world through 2008. In addition, he is currently working on a series of book projects, and co-editing a quarterly free magazine (ANP Quarterly) in conjunction with clothing company RVCA. He also plays in a music project called The Sads who released their debut album in 2007 on Los Angeles based label Teardrops Records.
