Spaces That Breathe

"Spaces That Breathe"

"Spaces That Breathe" is a film project that earned me the Excellence in Photography Award at the 2017 Barrington Fine Arts Showcase for my outstanding achievement and continuous contributions to the fine arts at Barrington High School. I was greatly inspired by the heavy decay and deterioration of these neglected structures as they slowly and inevitably faced defeat in their battle against Father Time.

"Andrew Lieske makes photographs that whisper. Darkened spaces, abandoned houses, isolated figures- spaces that breathe. 'All photographs testify to time's relentless melt.' Andrew photographs moments that fade. He documents these images before the fade. Sometimes spending three periods a day in the darkroom, he isn't satisfied yet." -  Stephanie Hargreaves
