Spotlight: Music in the Behance Network
By Behance Team

Musicians are using the Behance Network to disseminate their portfolios and collaborate with others. Whether it is a designer for a CD cover, an illustrator for concert posters, a photographer for headshots, or just a fellow musician for a jam, musicians are searching for partnerships. But beyond the benefits of partnerships, musicians have infused the Behance Network with sound. For this we are grateful, and today’s spotlight shines upon an eclectic group of musicians.
We begin the journey with two emerging singers: Annekei and Rachel Platten. Annekei is especially popular in Japan, where you will often find her touring. Platten is making an impact in the music scene on the east coast of the USA. Both Annekei and Platten have also been profiled in Behance’s online magazine, so check them out.
When it comes to bands, Behance has a few early adopters. We point you in the direction of the latest projects by Joppa, Delft, Full Process, and 23 to Sparta; Each with a distinct sound worth hearing.
Even the DJ’ing world has also discovered Behance. Check out Code of Arms’ Dirtystep Mixtape volumes 1 and 2.
The industry of music videos is a great example of the intersection between music and other creative realms. While searching video arts, music, and film in the Behance Network, you will come across great work like Mathias Erixon’s My Timekeeping Heart.
Now to the roots of music itself, you may want to check out Charlie Smith and Ryan Kennedy in music composition/arrangement. And what about the instruments themselves? All musicians play, but some musicians make their own! Ezequiel Galasso is a Buenos Aires based musician and industrial designer that specializes in “luthiery.” You may not know it, but luthiery is the art of guitar making (one of those lesser-known realms in the Behance Network!). Check out Ezequiel’s latest piece, the Galasso Bloodash, “a baritone guitar made of ash, colored blood red, with a Bigsby Vibrato and lipstick pickups.”
For those musicians who need some serious help on the design front, we encourage you to check out agrayspace’s work for independent music as well as Siggeir Hafsteinson’s work for MTV.
