Ian McCallam is a founding director of RAYV , a local business
review directory and social environment, recently nominated as one of
the Top 100 Australian Web 2.0 Applications, published by BRW magazine .
Ian is the founder and creator of the much publicised website -
This Ain’t No Disco which provides a ’sneak peak’ into some of the best
agencies across the world, and co-creator of the recently launched
social and philanthropic study - Hello. What Do You Want?
Ian has two major projects in development; Dark Ark (an
innovation house and idea broker) and a new business he is helping to
establish in the technology space, set to launch in July 2008.
Background
Ian started his career in the digital media industry back in the late 90’s creating online products and strategies for a variety of blue chip clients. Embracing his knowledge and passion for the online world, Ian was invited to become one of the founding writers for the popular trend spotting consultancy PSFK with whom he still has close ties.
Ian established his own business of three years in the music industry which was sold in 2005 prior to relocating from London to Sydney where he launched the Australian office for a British entertainment company specialising in Digital Rights Management. Over a period of 2 years Ian developed the digital sales channel for one of Australia’s largest music retailers and through a consultancy role at a private investment firm went on to develop 3 three online products in the Asian mobile arena.
