Organization

Is creativity a cause or an outcome of disorganization? We're not sure, but we know that the battle to stay organized is common in the creative professional community. The Behance team has found that exceptionally productive creative people (and organizations) have found unique and consistent way to stay organized.
We believe that effective methods for organization are (1) simple, (2) attractive, (3) accessible, and (4) visually rewarding.
SIMPLE: Life is complicated enough. Organization systems shouldn't have too many terms and rules. We find that simple systems with few options and features are most effective.
ATTRACTIVE: The greatest organization systems are well-designed and keep people engaged. While generic systems may be easy, they are not sufficient in engaging the users over time (especially during busy periods). Effective systems use design, color, and quality to visually appeal to the user. Effective systems are also easy to customize. When you feel ownership of your system, you are more likely to use it.
ACCESSIBLE: Life is mobile. Ideas come up when least expected. A good organization system should be accessible wherever you are and not entirely dependent on technology.
VISUALLY REWARDING: When you accomplish action steps or achieve major milestones, a good organization system will feature your team's progress front and center. This may mean that completed actions steps are stored collectively in a transparent container. Some teams design graphic business plans and goals that can be visually marked as accomplished.
Your impact as a creative person (or organization) is determined by your creative energy and your ability to organize.
